The Arches School Sport Partnership wishes to recognise the hard work that goes in to Physical Education and Youth Sport both in schools and within community settings across the city of Sheffield. The high quality opportunities that are provided mean that children have the opportunity to reach their maximum potential in their chosen sport.

The Arches Athletes Programme looks to highlight young people who are already on their way to becoming sporting superstars and hopes that this recognition will further inspire then to keep going!

As well as this the Arches School Sport Partnership have a Gifted and Talented Programme throughout our competition structure and hold Gifted and Talented Holiday Camps which include, inspirational talks, professional athlete testing and nutritional guidance for our stars of the future.

Achievements:

Competed in first Triathlon competition in 2018- Warwickshire Jr Triathlon Championships, Birmingham Junior Triathlon and York Junior Triathlon in the TriStars 1 Category finishing 16th and 18th

Aspirations:

Sam hopes to improve his swimming and running to get in to the top 10 in the races. Continue to learn more about open water swimming and eventually compete in full distance triathlon events

Katrina Tutoveanu

Winning 31 Medals in local and regional competitions.
National ranking in swimming in top 10- specifically 3rd in 50m Freestyle, 2nd in 50m/100m Breaststroke
Training 5 times per week at Ponds Forge

Hopes to reach the British National Championships or higher

Robbie Lightfoot

Orienteering, Basketball & Cricket

Achievements:

Current British Orienteering Champion (Boys Under 11 Sprint Distance) and won Silver Medals for Middle & Long Distance

Robbie also plays basketball for Sheffield Sharks Jrs and Hallam Cricket Club on a weekly basis

Aspirations:

Become World Orienteering Champion

3rd Place in Under 15s Girls category of the TRUNCE
3rd Female in Race 4 Life 5K at Graves Park

Ibrahim Khan

Achievements:

Received a trophy for taking part in Dance Competition
Danced in front of 600 people at Arches Dance Performance in 2018 and played the role of Michael Jackson in Thriller performance

To be a dancer
to be unique and create my own move no one has seen before

Achievements:

Training to perform in first show.
Able to undertake many skills including splits, handstand walkover, double footlock shapes

To learn more new skills such as full chest stand, needle sclae, Y stand
