Are you 18 or over? Are you looking for some coaching or voluntary work? Then The Arches have plenty of have opportunities for you to volunteer and coach within the 49 schools in the Arches School Sport Partnership. We have flexible hours for you to gain plenty of experience working with young people. We offer voluntary coaching placements where you will be working with children ranging from age 4 to 16 years.
You have the choice of taking on the role of an Activity Buddy or a Sports Coach.
Sports Coach
Each role consists of different requirements. As a Sports Coach you will be responsible for every child partaking in that session, you will plan and run and deliver sport oriented games and activities for the children. You will also need to complete registers for every session. Most sessions are an hour long and it is essential that you manage your time effectively.
Activity Buddy
As an Activity Buddy you will be there to primarily support the coach. Some of the things the role involves are setting up and putting away equipment, watching over the children and encouraging them take part in the activity.
If you are a qualified Sports Coach or working towards a qualification then the arches can provide sport specific opportunities for you within schools.

“The Arches School Sports partnership has provided me with many opportunities to progress as a coach. I progressed from a volunteer, to an activity buddy at Archie camp and then on to running my own sessions in local primary schools.
I have gained a range of qualifications such as CSLA Level Two and First Aid Training.
