Sheffield Schools Jumping for Joy in Skipping Project
Sheffield Schools Jumping for Joy in Skipping Project

Working in close partnership with Activity Sheffield and the Local Authority the Arches School Sport Partnership were able to offer a fantastic opportunity to two of the schools within our network. Pye Bank CE Primary and Beck Primary School were able to have a coach from Jump Rope UK come in to their school for a full day and work closely with a number of classes to undertake Skipping workshops. This allowed the children to learn some new skills that they could take out on to the playground with skipping as well as showing the teachers some different ways of delivering Skipping. Schools involved were then invited to send a full class of children to Ponds Forge for a day of skipping, being part of 240 Sheffield pupils taking part on the day.

As well as the school delivery day Jump Rope UK were able to deliver a teacher CPD workshop for the School Sport Partnership staff and a number of teachers from across the Sheffield Schools. If your school would like to get involved in skipping then please get in contact with the Arches School Sport Partnership and we will be able to support with equipment, ideas and coaching.
