Record Number of Schools Jumping for Gymnastics
Record Number of Schools Jumping for Gymnastics

The Arches SSP have this year worked in partnership with Links SSP to offer an enormous festival of gymnastics at Note Dame Catholic High School. With so many entries from school teams the day had to be split in to a morning slot and an afternoon slot with approximately 200 children at each session.

This event was part of the South Yorkshire School Games and teams competed in both Y3/4 and Y5/6 categories at foundation and advanced levels. The idea of the competition is that schools are able to enter children who are not already competing in British Gymnastics school competitions or at club level and are given a chance to compete in their first gymnastics competition.

The event was supported by Gymnastics specialist coaches as well as students from Sheffield Hallam University. There were also a number of young leaders from Notre Dame who helped with the judging of the routines and skills. Well done to Malin Bridge, Nether Green, Sacred Heart, Stocksbridge, Loxley and Phillimore who have progressed to the South Yorkshire Finals.
