As well as physical skills and developing sport the Arches SSP, there are a number if competitions and events that try to engage other school subjects and children that do not necessarily participate in sport on a regular basis. Across this term we have hosted a creative writing competition across our schools where we asked classes of children to write about a sporting moment in their life.
We saw a range of entries from a number of schools across the city who had sent us news articles, stories and poems that discussed a range of experiences from watching sport with parents to taking part in activities in and out of school.
Our winning entries were Sam from Lound Juniors and Olly from Nether Green juniors who wrote fantastic entries about athletics competitions and playing football for a local club. For their entries they received a framed certificate as well as an Arches goody bag including free day passes for our Archie Camps in the school holidays.
