This half term has seen the return of the Arches Leadership Academy across schools in the north of the city. Students from Forge Valley, Ecclesfield, Hinde House and Parkwood Academy as well as pupils from 17 primary schools will develop their leadership skills as well as increase opportunities for others through the programme.
Training and inductions have taken place across the schools where pupils will now start to plan activities or specific projects to support the development of PE and sport directly at their school. This could be through a range of different methods including coaching and deliver of club sport, setting up a sports crew or organising council, researching and pupil voice, mentoring and leading other pupils, sports media and journalism as well as many more.
We can not wait to see what the pupils are able to deliver in their school and there will be awards at the end of the year for the best individual leader as well as best school leadership team! So on your marks, get set... lead!
