Olympic Fever hits the Sheffield Trampoline Competition

The Sheffield School Games Next Steps Trampoline Competition has been growing and growing over the last couple of years, and with Bryony Page winning an Olympic Silver this year, the number of pupils taking part in trampolining at their secondary school has grown significantly. This had a huge impact on the Sheffield Competition which this year saw over 70 teams entered from across a range of different schools and age groups. It was great to see so many teenagers competing and representing their school and especially so many female competitors in a time where we are continually told that teenage girls are not interested in sport.

The Arches SSP had teams competing from Hinde House, Firth Park, Ecclesfield and Fir Vale Secondary Schools. See above for image of the Ecclesfield Team, some of which progressed to the South Yorkshire Finals in February.

If you are interested in finding more out about Trampolining as an activity or sport at any age then please contact us. There are a number of different places throughout the city that offer sessions/ lessons and also clubs who compete.
